Royston Repair Cafe

The Repair Cafe is an idea originally from the Netherlands, where people bring along all sorts of items (furniture, clothes, bikes, jewellery, electrical etc.) that need repairing and with the help of a skilled amateur or professional, learn how to mend them, rather than disposing of them at the tip and contributing to ever-increasing landfill.

The Royston Repair Cafe is holding its first event on Sunday 9 February, 10am-3pm at Meridian – details at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/royston-repair-cafe-tickets-9844376796 – do spread the word.

If any handy bicycle mechanics might be able to spare an hour or two to help out with any bike repairs, please get in touch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Video: A ride from Royston to Trumpington

This video was made on behalf of all cyclists and potential ‘would be’ cyclists who commute and work along this very busy route. It helps underline why cyclists, for reasons of their safety, need to be separated from busy A10 road traffic and also highlights the need for a safe crossing over the busy A505.
Royston, Melbourn, Cambridge and the surrounding villages in the area supply pools of workers who need to safely commute along this route.
